Applying for Financial Aid at Adelphi

Getting Started: Complete the FAFSA

The FAFSA—or, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid—will help us determine which loan, grant, student employment and other types of aid are right for you.

Understanding Tuition and Fees

Calculating your out-of-pocket expenses is simple. Using our published tuition and fees and subtracting all scholarships, grants and loans will help you understand your out-of-pocket costs. This information will all be laid out on your personal financial aid award letter, and we’ll be ready to help walk you through it.

Types of Financial Aid

Generous Scholarships and Grants

Each year, Adelphi awards more than $80 million in need- and merit-based scholarship assistance to our students. Federal and state programs, as well as other sources, offer additional grants for qualified students.

Student Loan Programs

The U.S. Department of Education has a variety of student loan programs that offer you reasonable interest rates and flexible repayment terms. Additionally, many private lenders offer alternative student loans.

Campus Employment: Earn While You Learn

Hundreds of Adelphi students hold paid work-study positions across campus, from tech support and research labs to recreation. And our Jaggar Community Fellows Program can help you find a paid internship with a nonprofit group. Our Center for Career and Professional Development will help you explore employment opportunities on and off campus.

Financial Services Resources

The financial aid process varies based on your student status and level of study. Here are some additional resources to help you find what you need, whether you’re applying for aid for the first time or are a current student with questions about a bill. And, as always, you can contact us for help.

Summer II Student Services - Student Financial Services: We have increased our essential employees from 5 to 11 and will continue to bring additional staff back to the office. Our blended approach will have some staff back in the office on a staggered work schedule and some staff members continuing to work remotely. The office is not open to visitors due to the tight office layout not meeting social distancing requirements and the lack of plexi-glass protective barriers necessary to meet with the public.
