Study the lives of people who live predominately in the developing countries. Learn about the interrelated problems of indigenous groups and ethnicity, and their relationship to the state. Examine the issues of food, population, gender, and the roles of non-governmental organizations, and sustainable grassroots models for development.

Communication Oral

Through class discussions, exams & quizzes, written assignments & oral presentations, students will be able to:  Define globalization and demonstrate an understanding of its effects around the world.  Discuss the effects of globalization on the people, culture, environment, and economy of at least one developing country.  Assess the roles of non-governmental organizations and sustainable grassroots models for development.
