The Ideal Time to Visit

The best time to visit campus is when classes are in session. Whether in-person or virtual, you’ll have the opportunity to experience campus life and see what it’s like to be a Panther at Adelphi.

Our beautiful campus sits on 75 acres, so wear comfortable walking shoes. Should you, or your guests, require an accommodation based on a disability, please contact the Student Access Office by phone at 516.877.3806 or email at When possible, please allow for a reasonable time frame prior to the event with requests for American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters, closed- captioning or Communication Access Real-Time Translation (CART) services; we suggest a minimum of five business days.

Will you be driving or using transit?

Whether you’re driving or using the New York City public transit, please allow yourself plenty of time for travel. We require that you arrive within 15 minutes of your scheduled visit to allow time to park and walk to your group visit location.

What will the weather be like?

Long Island has four seasons with warm, sunny, humid summers and chilly winters. Please dress accordingly and be prepared if inclement weather is predicted, as we still conduct tours in hot, windy, rainy, or snowy weather conditions. We recommend checking for weather updates and for traffic conditions.

What are Adelphi University’s requirements related to COVID and being on campus?

Masks are required while indoors, regardless of vaccination status. We ask that guests self-screen for symptoms and/or exposure prior to arrival, and those with risk factors should refrain from coming to campus. Please see more detailed mask information on our vaccine FAQs webpage.

Enjoy our beautiful campus!

Our campus is located in the picturesque village of Garden City, New York, which offers a variety of restaurants, shopping, recreational activities and places to stay. When you’re ready to explore further, just pick a direction: from Long Island’s world-famous beaches on the south shore to our historic Gold Coast in the north, or to the villages and wineries on the east end, we offer something for everyone. And the greatest city in the world–New York City—is right next door.

I am utilizing the Zoom Video Conferencing room for the virtual group visit, is there anything I need to do beforehand?
