The Exploring Critical Issues format features a distinguished group of experts exploring a topic of significance to New York area viewers.  Joining Dr. Scott for the discussion on “The Economy: Who’s Winning, Who’s Losing?” is Stephen Breitstone, Esq., a partner at the law firm Meltzer, Lippe, Goldstein & Breitstone, LLP and an expert in tax and estate planning matters; Carol Markman, CPA and partner at Feldman, Meinberg & Co. LLP, with practice areas in accounting and tax-related services for individuals, small businesses and not-for-profits; and businessman John Costanzo, President of Purolator International, Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of Purolator Inc., Canada’s largest delivery network.

“Financial markets indicate improvement as wealth increases for the wealthy, but surveys tell us that three in ten Americans have faced difficulty paying the rent or mortgage since 2008, and that one in five have lost a job in this period,” said Dr. Scott.  “What is the real state of the economy? Who is winning and why? Who is losing and why? What can be done about it?  These are the questions posed and answered by my informed guests.”

Seen by over seven million households, Exploring Critical Issues has earned three Telly Awards, the cable equivalent of the Emmy.

As the engaged University, Adelphi is proud to sponsor Exploring Critical Issues to provide scholars, advocates, and other distinguished guests with a forum in which to explore critical local, regional, national, and global topics, such as the environment, health, business, the arts, politics, law, and government regulations.
