Trio Solisti

Trio Solisti

The Adelphi University Performing Arts Center (AUPAC) is pleased to announce Trio Solisti’s return on Saturday, February 11, 2012, at 8:00 p.m. in the Concert Hall, 1 South Ave, Garden City, NY. Recognized as “the most exciting piano trio in America” by the New Yorker and “consistently brilliant” by the New York Times, Trio Solisti will perform a concert featuring a diverse range of music from piano trios by Mozart to Piazzolla’s Las Cuatro Estaciones Porteñas. Also featured will be Passacaglia by Adelphi’s Pulitzer Prize-winning composer, Paul Moravec. Trio Solisti will also be conducting a series of residencies and master classes with Adelphi students.

The trio includes critically acclaimed pianist Jon Klibonoff, violinist Maria Bachmann and cellist Alexis Pia Gerlach. Celebrating their tenth anniversary, Trio Solisti is known for its eclectic and refreshing sound that toes the line between popular and classical music. Reaching a broad audience, they have performed at venues such as The Kennedy Center, the Wolf Trap Center for the Performing Arts, and the internationally renowned Tuscan Sun Festival in Cortona, Italy. The successful trio’s rapport with Adelphi University reached a personal level when Professor Paul Moravec composed his 2004 Pulitzer Prize-winning piece, Tempest Fantasy for them. Upcoming plans for the trio’s tenth season together include a release of their new CD of Dvořák Piano Trios and return engagements in Calgary, Canada.
