Matt Johansen ’08 and Derner Institute Professor Deborah Serani, Ph.D., are highly respected in the Twitter community.

Some people find Twitter’s 140-character limit to be frustrating, but Adelphi University alumnus Matt Johansen ’08 and Gordon F. Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies Professor Deborah Serani, Psy.D., have mastered the format, and been praised as ones to watch on the social network.

The two couldn’t be more different in the content they post—Mr. Johansen, who goes by the Twitter handle @MattJay, speaks in fluent #hashtag and cybertech-ese as the head of the Threat Research Center at WhiteHat Security; Dr. Serani (@DeborahSerani) uses the platform to share information and her insights into depression, her area of concentration.

Learn more about how Dr. Serani’s love of social media makes a positive impact on her work. Dr. Serani was recently profiled on the Derner Institute’s website.

Mr. Johansen, a former Adelphi information technology employee, was named one of the top 100 cybersecurity experts to follow on Twitter, according to a Marble Security ranking. Read Johansen’s story.
