Brittany Beers, a graduate of Long Island Doctor of Audiology Consortium, recalls her hearing mission with the Starkey Hearing Foundation.
Brittany Beers, a graduate of the Long Island Doctor of Audiology Consortium class of 2017, recently traveled on her second hearing mission with the Starkey Hearing Foundation to St Croix.
During her time there, Beers was responsible for taking ear impressions, fitting earmolds and hearing aids. She states that this opportunity has taught her intangible values that you really can’t learn any other way. This global clinical experience supported by the Long Island Au.D. Consortium in collaboration with the Starkey Hearing Foundation is an opportunity that no audiology student should pass up.
“Not only was the experience a memorable one, but it also has allowed me to develop a better outlook on life, become a more positive and confident individual, and has had nothing but a positive impact on both my personal and professional life as an Audiologist”, states Beers.
