Marie Anzalone Sc.D., OTR, FAOTA

Back by popular demand this workshop with Dr. Anzalone will build upon her previous workshop as well as participants’ understanding of sensory integration theory and utilize a model for using diagnostic understanding to structure assessment planning, implementation and interpretation.  Understanding individual differences and dysfunction will be used as a frame for planning and implementing intervention.  Using a three part model of intervention in which clinicians first help families to better understand their child, then create a goodness-of-fit between the child and his/her dynamic physical and social environments, and finally implement individualized remediation strategies.  Methods of clinical reasoning and practical suggestions for thoughtfully planned individualized home- and center-based sessions will be discussed.  Strategies to help parents and other professionals understand sensory processing disorders will be discussed and illustrated with case studies.
