Princeton Review, Praise Odigie, David Miller

For the second year in a row, Adelphi was included in The Princeton Review’s Guide to Green Colleges. Among the 322 colleges featured, Adelphi was selected for its commitment to sustainability in its academic offerings, campus infrastructure, activities and career preparation.

Adelphi student Praise Odigie won the Things I’ll Never Say national creativity contest for poetry. Praise’s poem, “How an Undocumented Immigrant Looks at America,” describes her experience as a young girl in Nigeria dreaming of America and the reality of finally making it here. Watch video of Praise and read her award-winning poem.

Adelphi alumnus David Miller, B.S. ’67, softball coach at Smithtown West High School for 32 years, was recently honored by having the school’s softball field named in his honor. The story was featured in Newsday‘s High School Central blog on April 20, 2013.
