Families United in Health: A free health fair for all

There are free activities, information and health screenings at Families United in Health, a fun-filled afternoon on Saturday, April 18, from noon to 4 pm. The event, held rain or shine, will be at United Healthcare, 250 Fulton Avenue in Hempstead. Participants will enjoy music, food, face painting, Zumba dancing and a cooking demonstration, and receive useful information on nutrition and staying healthy, health insurance and child safety from community experts and service providers, A medical doctor from Sloane Kettering will provide important information on how to stay healthy for all ages, in English and in Spanish. There will be the opportunity to ask questions.

The mammography van will provide free mammograms and other no-cost health screenings will be offered, including glucose, blood pressure and cholesterol screening and HIV and STD testing.

Everything is free and participants who visit 10 vendors at the event will receive a $5 gift certificate for nearby Uno Pizza.
