The snow that has been blanketing Adelphi’s athletic fields confirms that the fall athletics season is officially over. Here, we summarize the season’s triumphs. Additional details are on the Panthers website

The men’s soccer team concluded its first season in the Division II ranks with an 11-7 overall record and reached the semifinals of the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament.

Women’s soccer had a history-making season in 2013, as the team recorded the most program wins since 2008, advanced to the NCAA East Regional for the first time since 2007 and won an NCAA Tournament game for the first time in nearly a decade.

The field hockey team reached the NE-10 Tournament semifinals for the second consecutive year under the direction of head coach Gloria O’Connor, courtesy of an 11–9 overall record and a 5–5 mark in regular season conference play.

Men’s and women’s cross country enjoyed success this year at the conference, regional and national levels. The men’s squad improved one spot at the conference championship from a year ago, finishing fifth. The women’s squad placed seventh at the conference meet but improved to fifth at the East Regional.

The women’s volleyball team reached the NCAA East Region Tournament for the seventh consecutive season, under the direction of head coach Danielle MacKnight. They finished the 2013 campaign 19–13 overall and 10–4 in Northeast-10 Conference play, reaching the NE-10 semifinal.

The golf team built on its recent success with a strong 2013, highlighted by two victories and a runner-up finish in five invitationals. They also successfully defended their NE-10 crown for the fourth time in five years.
