An adaptation of the ground-breaking musical that has inspired generations

The department of theatre at Adelphi University is thrilled to present The Me Nobody Knows. This musical is based on the book of the same name that was edited by Stephen M. Joseph. This musical version is an adaptation by Robert Livingston and Herb Schapiro, with music by Gary William Friedman and lyrics by Will Holt (and additional lyrics by Herb Schapiro). Under the direction of Kerry Prep, the students of the department of theatre will be performing the musical from Thursday, May 12 through Sunday, May 15, 2016 in the Black Box Theatre at the AUPAC, 1 South Avenue, Garden City, NY.

The Me Nobody Knows is an OBIE Award-winning and Tony-nominated musical production that has moved and captured the hearts of audiences since its off-Broadway debut in May of 1970. Occurring over the course of a single day, the show explores the ambitions and worries of a multi-racial cast of young people. Originally inspired by the writings from students in the New York City Public Schools, the stories are universal and transcend the boundaries of race. The modern and powerful score helps drive each character’s individual journey while inspiring and touching the audience.
