Transitory art is celebrated in a yearlong exhibition that opened in April.

Adelphi University’s year-long Ephemeral exhibition is featuring art that addresses the transitory—artworks that will exist in one state, but only briefly. On April 17, sand artist Joe Mangrum created a stunning outdoor work that was observed in process by passersby. The same day, artist Ariana Page Russell distributed a specially designed temporary tattoo to the Adelphi population, and Mac Premo’s exhibit, Dumpster Project, opened.

This piece is from the May 2013 issue of e-News from Adelphi University.
