See what Sandy Oestreich ’72, M.S. ’74, and Andrea Bertola ’03 are up to and share your news.

Sandy Oestreich ’72, M.S. ’74, spearheads the reignited Equal Rights Alliance in Florida. For 12 years, she has been working towards gender equality. She also helps mentor other ERA-active states as they routinely file ERA ratification bills. She has partnered with leaders in other states to put a new ERA bill before the U.S. House and Senate to speed up ERA passage. On August 17, 2012, she spoke about the ERA at the U.S. Capitol. She speaks twice a week throughout Florida, other active states, the Southeast and Washington, D.C.

Andrea Bertola ’03 directed an all-female production of The Vagina Monologues in February 2013, which marked the 15th anniversary of V-Day, the global activist movement to end violence against women and girls. On February 18 and 19, her sold-out V-Day benefit production was produced at HERE Arts Center in New York City, where the award-winning play was first produced. A handful of Adelphi theatre department alumni were involved with the production: Sue Day ’04, Darlene Heller ’02, Katie Perpall ’12, and Jaclyn L. Ramos ’11.
