On October 25th, 2019, the Public Safety Officers participated in the annual Department Training Day. This is an all day event where the Officers receive training in a variety of carefully selected training topics designed to enhance their ability to better serve the Adelphi community.

On October 25th, 2019, the Public Safety Officers participated in the annual Department Training Day. This is an all day event where the Officers receive training in a variety of carefully selected training topics designed to enhance their ability to better serve the Adelphi community.

The training enhanced their knowledge in the areas of Health & Safety, Investigatiion, documention, and reporting of  incidents, NYS Discrimination and Harrasment in the Workplace, and other Title IX related topics. The Training also included a workshop on Sexual Assault Victim Awareness and Interview Awareness Tactics delivered by Senior Investigator Kim Bryson, of the The New York State Police, Campus Sexual Assault Victims Unit. In addition, refresher courses were provided for Stop the Bleed, CPR, AED, Fires Safety & Extinguisher use, and NARCAN. 

The Department recognizes the value of a highly trained patrol force and is committed to providing ongoing professional development opportunities for the Public Safety Officers and the Department personnel that assist with investigating complaints or responding to emergency incidents.
