The senior members of the team had to miss Commencement at Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater with 2,175 Adelphi graduates. The university planned a private graduation ceremony for the students on Monday, June12.
Newsday and FiOS1 News covered the ceremony at Ruth S. Harley University Center ballroom where the five seniors received their diplomas. Casey Zalewski, Jen Graham, Jill Graziano, Jacqueline Jahelka, and Ryley Weber were able to walk across the stage in full cap and gown, where Adelphi President Christine Riordan and Interim Provost and Executive Vice President Sam L Grogg oversaw the ceremony and bestowed their degrees. “Tonight’s really special for us because we actually get the opportunity to graduate like many of our fellow seniors did,” Jacqueline Jahelka told FiOS1 News.
Friends, family members, deans and Trustees were in attendance to celebrate the student athletes not only for their academic achievement, but their success on the field as well.
