Adelphi University is committed to helping veterans earn their degrees.

For 2023–2024, Adelphi University has once again been designated a Military Friendly School and Military Spouse Friendly School.

For 2023–2024, Adelphi University has once again been designated a Military Friendly School and Military Spouse Friendly School.

This year, Adelphi received a Silver Award for efforts that exceeded the basic standards for recognition as a Military Friendly School, based on public data and survey responses assessed by Viqtory, a marketing consultancy focused on the military community, with input from the Military Friendly Advisory Council of independent leaders in higher education.

“Adelphi is dedicated to recognizing our veteran students and the dependents of veterans. Each year, we host a day of remembrance for Memorial Day, a celebration of veterans on Veterans Day, and a welcome brunch for veteran students and dependents during new student weekend,” noted Shawana Singletary, assistant vice president and chief enrollment officer. “We have just completed a newly renovated Veterans Lounge and, as a Yellow Ribbon School, we also make sure that our veteran students are able to cover their tuition and fees.”

The designation recognizes institutions that strive to help veterans make the transition from the military to school and, ultimately, find satisfying careers in the civilian world.

Measurements include a university’s ability to meet thresholds for retention, graduation, job placement, repayment, persistence and loan default rates for all students and specifically for student veterans.

The Military Friendly Schools survey is the longest-running and most comprehensive review of college and university investments in serving military and veteran students.
