Adelphi learned in late June that we will receive a $5 million Higher Education Capital (HECap) Matching Grant from New York State to help finance the renovation of the Ruth S. Harley University Center. The application for the grant focused on the positive impact the renovation will have on the regional economy, enrollment, the student experience and the University’s ability to prepare even more students for careers that are vital to New York’s competitiveness.

The renovation, which is scheduled to begin in May 2019, will transform the University Center into a single-purpose student center with increased space for dining, clubs and organizations, and activities. The grant amount awarded to Adelphi is the largest given any college or university in the state.
