Join us to honor outstanding athletes and athletics supporters.

Five outstanding honorees and a championship team will be recognized at the Adelphi Athletics 44th annual Hall of Fame Ceremony on Thursday, April 17, 2014, in the Thomas Dixon Lovely Ballroom of the Ruth S. Harley University Center. Ron Atanasio (men’s soccer), Kim Barnes-Arico (women’s basketball coach), Sandy Kapatos (men’s lacrosse coach), Richard Spitzner ’56 (swimming and diving) and Jeff Tyler ’00 (baseball) will be inducted.

The Panther Legendary Team award will be presented to the 2001–2002 women’s basketball team, which became the first and, so far, the only team in Adelphi program history to capture an East Coast Conference regular season title and a tournament crown in the same season.

The Woodruff Award, presented for excellence in coaching, teaching and educating young adults, will be presented to Ron Feingold, former dean of the Ruth S. Ammon School of Education and past chair of the Department of Health Studies, Physical Education and Human Performance Science.

The Frank Cassell Memorial Award, which recognizes extraordinary contributions made to Adelphi Athletics, will be presented to former Adelphi University Assistant Athletic Director Suzette McQueen.
