About the Book
A New York Times bestseller, this 2003 novel tells the story of William Waters, a man with a tragic past who finds love with Julia Padavano, one of four inseparable sisters from Chicago. However, with any family, there is conflict and a past which threatens to separate them.
The book contains themes of love (familial, romantic, and self-love), loss, and healing, and is considered a modernization of Little Women.
