Therapeutic Interventions That Facilitate Working With Couples
Event Actions
In this five-week seminar, we address approaches that work best as a function of the idiosyncratic qualities of every couple that we see clinically.
Our seminar includes initial discussion approaches; the importance of diagnostic understanding of the couple as a unit and the individuals that make up the couple; the application of Object Relations and other approaches; the use of dreams and phantasy material; how to decide when to work with the couple and when to focus on the individuals that comprise the couple; as well as dealing with our own comfort in using our experiences in session.
This workshop is part of the Couple Therapy Series.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this seminar series, participants will be able to:
- Recognize the importance of each partner’s individual history as well as the shared history of the couple.
