“Enduring Practice, Emerging Possibility: How Strong Pedagogical Practice Endures and Evolves in Changing Learning Environments”

Join the Faculty Center for Professional Excellence (FCPE) for our Annual Adelphi University Teaching and Learning Conference (TLC).

This year, engaging discourse will center on the theme of Enduring Practice, Emerging Possibility: How Strong Pedagogical Practice Endures and Evolves in Changing Learning Environments.

Connect with faculty, speakers, and other experts, as we share insights and delve into practical ideas and practices aimed at enhancing the faculty and student experience.

Call for Proposals: Concurrent Programming

We invite proposals for concurrent sessions for this in-person conference, and the FCPE is happy to work with presenters to help plan and support.

We welcome proposals aligned with the theme: Enduring Practice, Emerging Possibility: How Strong Pedagogical Practice Endures and Evolves in Changing Learning Environments.

We invite faculty to reflect on what makes teaching effective, especially as it continues to evolve. Proposals may explore enduring practices and emerging ideas alike, from active, inclusive, and experiential teaching and learning to the thoughtful integration of AI, digital tools, and workforce-readiness skills.

We welcome diverse perspectives and approaches that demonstrate adaptability, creativity, and evidence-based strategies for fostering meaningful teaching, learning, and student success across contexts.

Deadline to Submit

Please submit your proposals before Friday, February 27, by 11:59 EST.

Session Formats

We invite proposals from faculty, groups of faculty, and partners in the following formats:

  • Panel Presentation/Discussion (50 minutes total): Panels may include three to four presenters addressing related topics or questions. Sessions should connect to the conference theme and include ample time for audience participation.
  • Coffee Talk (50 minutes): These facilitated discussions focus on a question or challenge related to teaching or the student experience and engage participants in shared reflection, problem-solving, and exchange of approaches.
  • Praxis Modeling/Workshop (50 minutes): This interactive format guides participants through a teaching strategy or practice that presenters have used in their own work. Sessions should include opportunities for discussion and/or reflection, practical application, and resources or guidance for implementation. These elements should be clearly described in the proposal.
  • ‘Lightning’ Session (15 minutes): This interactive format guides participants through a teaching strategy or practice that presenters have used in their own work. Sessions should include opportunities for discussion and/or reflection, practical application, and resources or guidance for implementation. These elements should be clearly described in the proposal.

If you would like to offer a format other than what has been noted, please let us know your ideas on the form.

Please note: Session times may vary slightly to accommodate keynote presentations, session formats, and the number of proposals received. FCPE will contact presenters to confirm session details and timing.
