Overview

This interactive 3-hour webinar will explore the layered relationship between trauma-informed care (how we treat clients), trauma-informed supervision (how we support supervisees), and supervision as source for trauma stewardship (how we help clinicians sustain their well-being).

Course Learning Objectives>

Participants will examine how to build trauma-competent clinicians while cultivating a supervisory relationship that emphasizes ethical care, self-awareness, and resilience in emerging professionals. Through clarity of the layers of trauma informed practices, reflection, and case application, supervisors will learn to use supervision as both a tool for clinical competence and a practice of stewardship to support sustainability in the field.

  1. Define and differentiate trauma-informed care, trauma-informed supervision, and trauma stewardship, and explain how each contributes to sustaining competence and development in emerging clinicians.
  2. Apply trauma-informed principles within the supervisory relationship to foster ethical practice and clinical competence in emerging clinicians.
  3. Use supervision as a practice of trauma stewardship to help emerging clinicians recognize trauma exposure responses, cultivate resilience, and sustain their professional growth over time.
