Date & Time: October 21 12:30pm – 1:30pm
Location: Multicultural Center (UC 301)

Out for Lunch is an informal conversation series which allows students to meet and connect with LGBTQIA+ faculty, staff and administrators in a casual space. This series provides students the opportunity to hear from faculty, staff, and administrators who identify as LGBTQ+ about their life experiences, careers, successes and challenges in a more personal manner that might be possible in a classroom or appointment setting. All Adelphi community members are welcome to attend the Out for Lunch series, regardless of their identities. For this lunch, we will be talking with Robby Fahrenholtz, Coordinator for the Multicultural Center in the Office of Diversity Equity Inclusion and Belonging. Robby will present Bar Raids, Pretty Police, and the Criminalization of Queer Bodies. In this presentation, they will discuss the history of queer people as targets for police harassment and violence and identify signs form the present day that these practices are far form being a thing of the past.

Robby Fahrenholtz (They/them) is currently the Coordinator for the Multicultural Center and works to provide educational and engaging opportunities to students from diverse backgrounds. They hold a Masters in Leadership and Student Affairs in Higher Education from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. Prior to coming to Adelphi, Robby worked in various student and professional capacities in residence life and housing and through that was able to find a passion for co-curricular learning that has guided much of their work to this day.

Free lunch will be provided for the first 15 attendees. If you plan to attend and have any allergies or dietary restrictions, please email Robby Fahrenholtz (rfahrenholtz@adelphi.edu) with that information so an appropriate meal can be provided.
