Learn how to recognize and respond to opioid overdoses with life-saving Narcan training, offered in both English and Spanish. This free session empowers participants with the tools and knowledge to take action in a crisis and help protect their communities.

Join us for a free, bilingual Narcan (naloxone) training hosted by the School of Social Work at the Hauppauge Extension Center, located at 150 Motor Parkway, Suite 100, Hauppauge, NY.

This community-focused training is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to respond effectively to opioid overdoses. Offered in both English and Spanish, the session ensures accessibility and inclusivity for all.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Recognize the signs and symptoms of an opioid overdose
  • Take life-saving action in an emergency situation
  • Properly administer Narcan (naloxone), a medication that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose
  • Understand the broader context of the opioid crisis and its impact on our local communities

Whether you’re a concerned community member, service provider, or simply want to be prepared, this training empowers you to help protect the lives of those at risk. All attendees will receive a free Narcan kit upon completion of the training.

This event is part of our ongoing effort to build safer, more informed communities and reduce the stigma around substance use. We encourage you to attend, share the information, and be part of the solution.
