High school students will delve into intensive hands-on workshops in dance, music and theatre during A Day with the Arts.
This year’s event will be hosted in-person.

Workshops
A list will be provided at the beginning of Fall. The maximum number of students allowed to participate is 15 students per school. All workshops will have varying capacities for each session and will accommodate guests on a first come, first served basis. Workshop selection is subject to change.
Students are required to pre-register for the workshops. A form will be sent for the students to complete upon registration. All students must register for the workshops no later than Friday, September 12, 2025.
Guest Artist
Joe Iconis

Joe Iconis is a musical theater writer and performer from Garden City, New York. He has been nominated for a Tony Award, four Drama Desk Awards, two Lucille Lortel Awards, two Outer Critics’ Circle Awards, and is the recipient of an Ed Kleban Award, a Jonathan Larson Award, and a Richard Rodgers Award.
After originating at Two River Theater in Red Bank NJ, Joe’s musical Be More Chill (with Joe Tracz) went on to play Broadway, London, and Tokyo. His new show The Untitled Unauthorized Hunter S. Thompson Musical has played Signature Theatre in Washington D.C. and the La Jolla Playhouse. Joe is the author of Love in Hate Nation, Broadway Bounty Hunter (with Lance Rubin and Jason SweetTooth Williams), Bloodsong of Love, Punk Rock Girl! (for Lively McCabe), The Black Suits (with Robert Maddock), ReWrite, Things To Ruin, and Theaterworks USA’s The Plant That Ate Dirty Socks and We the People. His music appeared on season two of NBC’s Smash and he frequently performs with his concert act Joe Iconis & Family at 54 Below (where he is their first-ever Artist-in-Residence) and the Laurie Beechman Theater.
His albums include the 44-song retrospective “Album”, the original cast recordings of “Love in Hate Nation”, “Broadway Bounty Hunter”, “Things To Ruin”, and “Be More Chill” (both OCR and OBCR, which have been streamed over 750 million times); “Two-Player Game” (with George Salazar), and “The Joe Iconis Rock & Roll Jamboree” all available on Sh-K-Boom/Ghostlight Records. Joe is hugely inspired by Robert Altman, Dolly Parton, The Muppets, and the Family of artists he frequently surrounds himself with.
A Day with the Arts Student Contract
All students must have a signed A Day with the Arts Student Contract by a parent or legal guardian prior to participating in the event. This form will be provided upon registration.
Registration
All faculty, chaperones and students must have the Adelphi University Camera Release Form signed by a parent or legal guardian. Students who do not have a signed photo release form will not be permitted to participate in the event. Please be sure to share this information with your students and their parents. We request you scan your signed forms and send them to us at infoevents@adelphi.edu prior to the event in order to expedite the check-in process. You may also collect the forms and bring them with you on the day of the event.
