This two-part workshop will define shame, explore its impact and give an overview of the literature on the topic of shame, including the work of shame researcher, Brene Brown.
Those who attend will learn how shame influences parenting, our response to loss and trauma, and school culture. The workshop will describe how men, women and different cultures differ in their experience of shame. Participants will learn the principles for the treatment of shame.

- Understand how men, women and various cultures differ in their experience of shame
- Participants will learn the basic principles to guide them in their treatment of shame.

  About the Speaker
  Connie Palmer

Connie Palmer is a licensed clinical social worker who is an experienced teacher, therapist and school counselor with more than thirty years of experience working with youth and their families. She is currently the Clinical Training Director for Imagine, a Center for Coping with Loss in Mountainside, NJ. She presents seminars on various topics such as: grief and loss, resilience, shame, parenting, anti-bullying, depression and anxiety.

Unfortunately, we cannot provide refunds for cancellations made seven working days or fewer before the event for any reason—or for no-shows. We can provide credit towards a future workshop up to 24 hours before the event. After that, no credit will be issued.
