Valarie Kaur

Valarie is a renowned civil rights leader, lawyer, award-winning filmmaker, educator, innovator, and #1 L.A. Times best-selling author of See No Stranger. She is the founder of the Revolutionary Love Project, where she leads a movement to reclaim love as a force for justice.

Valarie earned degrees at Stanford University, Harvard Divinity School, and Yale Law School, and holds several honorary doctorates. She has created groundbreaking initiatives at the intersection of spirituality, storytelling, and social justice, including Groundswell Movement, Faithful Internet, and the Yale Visual Law Project.

Musician Bio

Qais Essar

Qais Essar, an Afghan American musician trained by a lineage of Sufi sages in classical music and poetry. Qais is a master of the rabab — the musical instrument their ancestors used for thousands of years to ignite courage in the darkest times. Qais became globally acclaimed for unlocking new musical dimensions of this ancient instrument, creating sonic time portals connecting classical and modern eras. A composer, instrumentalist, and producer, Qais now harnesses the power of mysticism and music for revolutionary social change. He tours the world, most recently selling out the Sydney Opera House.
