Amy Begel, LCSW, LMFT

Amy Begel, LCSW, LMFT

Amy Begel is a family therapist who received her family therapy training in the 1980s with one of the creators of family therapy, Dr. Salvador Minuchin. Since then, she has maintained a busy private practice in New York City and New Jersey. Amy is Senior Faculty at The Minuchin Center for the Family, where she has conducted family therapy training nationally and internationally.

Since 2009, Amy has been on the teaching faculty of the Department of Family Medicine, The Institute for Family Health, Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. She has also conducted family systems consultations to a variety of organizations, including the UCLA Department of Psychiatry at the Veterans Administration.

Amy is the author of the book Diagnosis Human, published by Rowman and Littlefield in 2023. She has also authored numerous professional articles and posts, including for the Psychotherapy Networker, the popular medical blog KevinMD, and HuffPost. She writes the blog Most Human.

Full refunds are issued for cancellations made up to 7 working days before the event. Cancellations of less than 7 days for any reason, or no-shows are not refunded. Credit towards a future event/workshop are issued for cancellations less than 7 days and up to 24 hours before the event. No credit is issued for cancellations less than 24 hours before the events or no-shows.
