Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation™ (TRHT) is a nationwide effort fostering sustainable change by tackling historic and current racism through holistic, community-driven approaches.

2016

The W.K. Kellogg Foundation launched the Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation movement to engage citizens in community-based racial healing and address inequities grounded in notions of a racial hierarchy. The work involves inclusive, community-based healing discussions and policy design to broaden understanding of diverse experiences and change the narrative.

2017

The American Association of Colleges & Universities (AAC&U) joined the Kellogg Foundation’s effort to promote TRHT on college campuses. Ten institutions of higher education were selected for their first cohort of TRHT Campus Centers. Today, 71 institutions serve as host locations with the shared goal of erasing barriers to equal treatment and opportunity on campuses, in communities, and in the nation.

2019

The AAC&U selected Adelphi and 12 other institutions of higher education to join its second cohort of TRHT Campus Centers in the United States. When Adelphi launched its TRHT Campus Center in March 2020, our academic community was prepared and eager to participate in the work needed to make sustainable change.

Empowering Change

Guided by a common vision, each of the TRHT Campus Centers will engage and empower campus and community stakeholders to uproot biases and inspire the next generation of leaders and thinkers to advance justice and build more equitable communities.
