Learn and gain insight into career/professional or personal/wellness related topics, develop new skills, be inspired, and stay connected to your community.

Alumni Participation in the Adelphi Alumni Webinar Series

Are you interested in sharing your expertise with the Adelphi community? Complete the Adelphi Alumni Webinar Series Proposal Form to submit a webinar proposal.

Once you complete your proposal form, it will be reviewed and considered for the series. A staff member of Alumni Relations will follow up with you to learn more and share further details. Please note that not all proposals will be selected for the series.

How long are the webinars?
Webinars typically run no more than 1 (one) hour. Please allow 20-30 minutes for the presentation, and 10-15 minutes for Q&A.

What technology platform is used to host the webinar?
Zoom is used to host the webinars. Presenters will be given an overview of how to utilize the platform, and a practice session will be scheduled prior to the presentation.

Is there a selection process conducted for alumni to participate in the series?
Please keep in mind that submitting the Adelphi Alumni Webinar Series interest form does not guarantee being selected to participate. We will circle back with you in the coming weeks after reviewing all submissions and the needs of the Adelphi student and alumni community.

Will the presentation I create for the webinar be modified?
Your presentation will be reviewed and may be edited in order to meet the needs of the Adelphi Alumni Webinar Series objective. You will also be provided an introductory slide and closing slide that includes general Adelphi information. Please keep in mind your intended audience will be alumni, current students, faculty, and staff.

Can I promote my business/products during my presentation?
The intended purpose of hosting a webinar within this series is to educate and inform the Adelphi community on a specific topic. We will not accept proposals with the sole purpose of promoting a business or product, you can however mention your business or products and/or provide a link during the presentation.

What will be required of me when hosting a webinar?
If your webinar proposal gets accepted, you will be required to submit the following:

  • A brief professional bio and headshot
  • Develop a compelling presentation (using PowerPoint/Google Slides, Prezi, etc.),
    discussion, open forum, etc.
  • Participate in a practice run prior to the webinar

Will I be paid for hosting a webinar?
No, participants will not be paid for participating in the Adelphi Alumni Webinar Series. Click here to access the Adelphi Alumni Webinar Series Proposal Form.

How many questions will I be asked?
You will be presented five (5) questions on an agreed upon topic. 2-5 questions will be used in your final Ask an Expert series.

Can I suggest a topic? If so, how will the questions be determined?
You can suggest a topic within the Ask an Expert Interest Form. If approved, a member of Alumni Relations will develop the questions.

How will the Q&A be conducted?
A member of Alumni Relations will email you the questions, and you can provide your response via email within a given timeframe.

Will my responses be modified?
Your responses will be reviewed and edited in order to meet the needs of the Ask an Expert series objective. Please keep in mind your intended audience will be current students, alumni, faculty and staff.
