Description:

Through hands-on production assignments, students will explore their identities as educators, examine educational themes, and develop compelling short films that merge art with pedagogy. This course bridges the fields of filmmaking and education, guiding students through a creative journey of self-discovery, reflection, and storytelling.

Learning Goals:

Students will create short films based on their pedagogical practice, educational themes, and artistic context.Students will devise storyboards for a narrative and docu style film that examine pedagogical theory, critical thinking, and arts based learning.Students will write short scripts on an educational theme, topic, or instructional tool.Students will film 4 types of films (in video format) : Narrative, Short, Documentary, Scripted.Students will work on a mock film festival submission addressing one of the following areas in arts education: instruction, artistic lens, diversity, pedagogy.
