Learn the rudiments of economic literacy and understanding. The role of economics in everyday life, the operation of markets, and the determination of national income provide the focal points for lectures and discussion.

Upon completion of this course, the successful student should be able to: Understand the Foundation of Economics: The Economizing Problem Understand How Prices and Output Quantities are Determined Identify the Characteristics of the Market System Identify the Components of the national economy . Assess Economic Performance Identify alternative national economic policy strategies. Explain the limitations of policies and their co-ordination
