Student must register for lecture and lab Students will learn key principles of and analytical, calculus-based problem-solving skills in thermodynamics; electrostatics; magnetism and magnetic induction; dc and ac circuits; electromagnetism; geometrical optics; and physical optics. Students will complete weekly laboratories to explore the material in a physical setting. Numerical and computational skills will be reinforced. COURSE LEARNING GOALS: Students will be introduced to a wide-range of fundamentals concepts in classical physics. The student will obtain a solid foundation of physical reasoning, putting newly learned mathematics to work solving problems.
