For one of the 3 museum studies tracks:collections care &
Pre-conservation;pre-curatorial in ant or art history:&

In this capstone internship, students translate Museum Studies Program coursework into the professional workplace. Students gain exposure to problem solving, project participation, and relationship building in one of three areas of focus: Collections Care and Pre-Conservation (Objects and Architecture); Anthropology or Art History Pre-curatorial track; or Museum/Gallery Administration/Management.

The Capstone Internship will be scheduled in the Museum Studies certificate student’s final semester or summer.  The objectives of this capstone are to provide a workplace arena where students will:Integrate and fully develop knowledge about Museum Studies through practical application in a museum, historic house, gallery, conservation lab, or cultural institution setting.Apply knowledge toward critical thinking and problem solving in the context of the professional setting.Develop professional skills, behaviors, and awareness of the museum environment for employment after the Museum Studies program. Communicate skills of self-assessment and the ability to receive and respond to constructive feedback in the professional workplace setting.
