Date & Time: April 9 2:30pm – 4:00pm
Location: Swirbul Library, Innovation Center, Virtual

This workshop introduces the core concepts and vocabulary behind modern AI systems, including algorithms, machine learning, neural networks, and the ways computers represent and process data such as text, images, and audio.

Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming how people learn, work, and create, but understanding these technologies begins with learning the language used to describe them. Participants will explore common applications of AI and examine the differences between knowledge-based systems and machine learning approaches. The workshop also highlights the limitations of AI, including issues related to biased data, hallucinations, and data dependency. By the end of the workshop, participants will have a foundational understanding of how AI systems work and the terminology needed to engage confidently in conversations about artificial intelligence.

(This workshop serves as the first ‘Core Requirement’ towards the participant’s completion of the LaunchED AI ‘Certificate’ provided by The Innovation Center and The Faculty Center for Professional Excellence)

This event is hybrid.
