Date & Time: February 25 12:00pm – 1:00pm
Location: Swirbul Library, Innovation Center

Do you use AI tools, like ChatGPT or Gemini, to get started on your research? Attend this workshop to learn how to search in AI tools more effectively, and how to use academic sources to verify the accuracy of a chatbot’s responses.

AI tools can be a powerful starting point for research—if you know how to use them properly. This session focuses on the critical thinking skills needed to navigate AI-generated content without falling for common pitfalls.

Attend this workshop to:

  • Get helpful tips for interacting with general AI tools such as Gemini, Copilot, and ChatGPT, to jumpstart your research.
  • Learn techniques for verifying the accuracy of chatbot responses, including spotting false information and evaluating chatbot citations.
  • Gain insight into how you can use trusted academic sources (like library databases) to confirm information, and to build upon your inquiry using resources that can be used in your papers/projects.

*Always check your syllabus or speak with your professor to make sure you are allowed to use AI tools for your paper/project.
