Supervisors are essential to the practice of mental health, but the supervisor’s role is a complicated one.

This course is designed to meet the NYS requirements of mental health professionals to receive 3 hours of training on maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. This course is NOT New York State specific, and can satisfy boundaries and ethics training requirements for any state.

Overview

Ethical considerations for supervisors can be very different from that of their supervisees. This training will explore the unique ethical considerations of supervisors, with special attention to the complications the supervisory role brings to boundaries. This course will provide a framework to contemplate ethical dilemmas and make informed decisions that insulate supervisors from compromising their liability while also supporting their supervisees and protecting clients from harm.
