Human Library
Event Actions
The human library aims to address people’s prejudices by helping them to talk to those they would not normally meet.
The Human Library is a concept born in Denmark through which people are “on loan” as human books — giving readers an opportunity to ask questions about their lived experiences and listen to their stories, first-hand.
Through this event, the Adelphi University Libraries Diversity Council aims to celebrate diversity and promote inclusion by providing a safe and respectful space for individuals to come together and foster understanding.
Have you experienced stigma, discrimination, or prejudice? Would you like to share your story and volunteer to be a book? Please reach out to Dana Sinclair, dsinclair@adelphi.edu, to volunteer to be a “book” by March 13th.
For any further questions, please contact Dana Sinclair, dsinclair@adelphi.edu
