For international students, the move from your home country to a university in the United States can be challenging—a new language, new ways of learning and a new home.
Here you’ll be part of a vibrant, inclusive, multicultural community that values and celebrates diversity.
Our International Orientation on Thursday, August 25, 2016 is the official welcome for more than 200 new international students from 40 countries to Adelphi. Orientation includes airport pickup upon request, placement tests, presentations on academics and student life services, campus tours, getting ID cards, and social activities and off-campus excursions.
In recent years, Adelphi’s international students have come from 51 countries* and many different socioeconomic, cultural and religious backgrounds and lifestyles. We have different opinions, beliefs and ideas. Yet we love to learn from each other—both in and out of the classroom.
*Country list from Adelphi 2015 Databook. Figures for 2016 international enrollment will be finalized after September 27, 2016.
