Posting of Positions
University personnel records should be accurate, relevant, and safe from improper disclosure. Federal and state laws require that certain information be gathered and maintained in personnel files.
This policy outlines the requirements for the posting of positions, and sets out the applicable procedures.
Reason for Policy
The University is required by law to provide adequate policies and procedures regarding the posting of job positions to ensure that all potential applicants have an equal opportunity for employment.
Who Is Governed by this Policy
Faculty and Staff
The University attempts to fill job vacancies from within, although it has the discretion to recruit and hire outside candidates.
Once positions have been approved for replacement by the applicable executive leadership member, the Position Review Committee and the President, job postings, other than non-graded positions, are placed on our website at adelphi.edu/hr/open-positions/, unless an intradepartmental promotion takes place. Interested and qualified candidates must apply online at the Office of Human Resources website to be considered for a posted position. A University-wide email is sent out notifying the current employees of the opening and directing them to the website.
