Important Benefits Update for 2026
Adelphi University will transition from Cigna to Aetna as one of our medical insurance carriers, effective January 1, 2026. EmblemHealth will continue to be offered. This change provides comparable coverage with cost savings, a broader provider network, and dedicated support for employees.

Making Changes to Your Benefits
You can make updates to your benefits due to a big life event or during the annual enrollment period.
Annual Enrollment
Open enrollment is your annual opportunity to review and update your benefits for the coming year. Each November, we ask employees to visit My Benefits on Adelphi’s eCampus portal to enroll, confirm, or make changes. Any updates you make will take effect on January 1.
Qualifying Life Events
Qualifying events allow you to request a change to your coverage for medical, dental and vision plans. Common qualifying life events include:
- Marriage or start of a domestic partnership
- Birth or adoption of a child
- A spouse or partner gaining or losing coverage
- Family members arriving in or leaving the United States

All benefits will be determined in accordance with the official plan, agreement, contract, or regulations under which the benefits are provided.
Nothing in this summary of benefits may be construed as a contract with any employee, which can occur only by a specific written agreement between Adelphi University and the employee. The University reserves the right to change, modify or eliminate any benefit in this summary at any time, with or without notice, according to the terms of the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Each November, Annual Enrollment period is offered during which employees may elect to change plans, with the change effective on the subsequent January 1.
