Alexandria Deters, a Bronx, New York based artist will be giving the second Artist Lecture for the Fall 2023 Semester. She has been embroidering for over a decade, developing a unique practice focused on body positivity and queer art.

Join the Adelphi Art Department in welcoming Alexandria Deters, a Bronx, New York-based artist, writer, archivist, and fine art appraiser, for her upcoming Artist Talk in UC 201. Deters will discuss her most recent work and artistic practice with the staff and students of the Art Department as well as any other guests attending. There will be time at the end of the talk for questions. Her work is a form of meditation through embroidery. Deters practice is deeply rooted in consent and with her own struggles with body positivity and her continual research on queer art.

For any questions about this lecture, please contact Liz Fargnoli at fargnoli@adelphi.edu or 516-877-4460.
