Translating in-person contact hours to online learning does not require a one-to-one ratio. Teaching online involves more flexible approaches to measuring and balancing synchronous and asynchronous activities. This workshop will explore how to calculate ‘instructional time’ for online courses, detail best practices as well as guidelines for estimating student time on task.
