The Princeton Singers: “Inspirations”
Event Actions
Under the direction of conductor-composer Steven Sametz, The Princeton Singers presents a program of diverse musical selections.
For thirty-nine years The Princeton Singers have captivated audiences and listeners through excellent singing and musicianship. The ensemble has been noted for its versatility and its mastery of works from Bach to Schoenberg, with forays into unexplored and exciting realms such as Aboriginal and Native American ritual music, Igbe chanting and Arab-Andalusian muwashahat.
For their program Inspirations, the singers present an exploration of how contemporary composers take their inspiration from chant, carnival songs and spirituals. Featuring works by Josquin des Prez, Johann Sebastian Bach, Johannes Brahms, Steven Sametz and Adelphi faculty member Sidney Marquez Boquiren.
