Speaker Bios

Steve Schnittger

Steve is an expert in microbiology, cosmetic preservation & fermentation. He has led the preservative, microbiological quality and product integrity group for all Estee Lauder Companies for the past 37 years. He partners with Formulation, Safety and Regulatory groups, to ensure all of our products are both safe and efficacious by design, and when in contact with the consumer.

Steve is also responsible for the EL Global Fermentation Department which has been tasked with delivering new ingredients to continue to feed the Estee Lauder’s innovation pipeline.

Externally, Steve represents the U.S. cosmetic industry in ISO – International Standards Organization, European Cosmetic Trade Organization, ICCR – International Cooperation on Cosmetic Regulation and PCPC – The US Cosmetic industry Trade Organization.

Steve has a degree in Microbiology from Tulsa University in Oklahoma and has over 20 patents in the area of fermentation. He is recognized & sought out externally by the cosmetic industry and has given numerous lectures around the globe in the area of preservation, microbiology and fermentation.

Diana Sen

Diana is a Partner at Global Source to Pay Practice, Genpact. She is a strategy and supply chain professional with a track record of delivering cost savings, maximized opportunities, and innovative solutions for Fortune 100 companies and governmental clients. She has extensive global strategy and operations experience in driving large-scale transformation initiatives, with expertise in profit improvement, supply chain transformation, process design, and managing client relationships. Over her career, she’s worked with senior executives to solve seemingly intractable problems relating to strategy, supply chain, and other areas. She’s managed and played key roles in projects that saved her clients over $100,000,000 across industries as diverse as oil and gas, consumer goods, government, automotive, aerospace, healthcare, and, most recently, semiconductors.

She has completed successful engagements with over 30 clients in over 40 locations across the US and internationally. Her current area of focus is building a Supply Chain Resiliency offering targeted towards the Semiconductor industry.

Karla Rangel

Karla Rangel García, has a degree in marketing and a master’s degree in information technology administration. She works as an expert in supply chain, blockchain, communication and Clean Tech at IBM. She is an advisor to multiple design thinking universities worldwide, co-creator of the TechTrends podcast and editor of the technology magazine “Technologista Newsletter”.

Mark Temkin

Mark Temkin has extensive experience leading demand and supply planning and S&OP processes in the CPG, high-tech, food and apparel industries. His focus has been on increasing service levels, optimizing inventory and driving cost savings. His focus on team building includes fostering a continuous improvement and highly collaborative culture.

Currently, Mark is Senior Director of Demand Planning and S&OP at Radienz Living, a privately held cleaning products company based in Melville, NY. Prior to that Mark led demand and supply planning at Harry’s Inc, a personal care products company, and managed demand, inventory and S&OP at Hain Celestial Group, Inc, a natural and organic products company.

Mark holds a BA in political science from Johns Hopkins University and an MBA from NYU. He has spoken and written on a variety of topics including supply chain planning during COVID, best practices in S&OP and CPFR, and vendor-managed inventory.

Duncan Klett

Co Founder & Fellow

Since co-founding Kinaxis in 1984, Duncan has focused on product innovation and matching RapidResponse functionality to customer needs. Acting as the interface between manufacturers, the Kinaxis design team, and executives, Duncan has led the successful fulfillment of several customer requirements.

In his current role as Fellow, Duncan draws on almost 40 years of experience with analytics and software solutions to design next-generation Kinaxis product features to help companies balance supply and demand of everything to drive greater competitive advantage. Prior to starting Kinaxis, Duncan held various positions with Bell Northern Research and Mitel Corporation.

Duncan has been involved with several professional and community organizations and regularly gives lectures at universities and industry events. Duncan holds a Bachelor of Applied Science and a Masters of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. He is also a certified Professional Engineer and a Kinaxis Certified RapidResponse Master.

Thomas Sproat

Tom has worked for the A.P. Moller group since 2006, and prior with P&O Nedlloyd. Tom has a varied background in our Industry having sailed as an officer on merchant vessels, worked on terminals, managed operations, as well as a significant amount of time on the commercial side. Most recently Tom was President of Safmarine, one of the individual brands under the Maersk Line umbrella, with end-to-end responsibility for sales and service. Prior to that role, Tom was based in Copenhagen for several years as the Global Head of Customer Service.
