Reading is a social experience.
In this workshop, we will discuss how social annotations are used in society and how they can be used to build community and encourage comprehension of complex texts. After discussing the reasons you may want to incorporate social annotations into your courses, we will demonstrate how to use Perusall from the instructor and student perspectives, and how to use Google Docs for this purpose.
