A SafeZone is a place where all people can feel safe, supported and welcome, particularly members of the lesbian, gay, bi‐sexual and transgender communities.

This workshop explores micro‐aggressive and discriminatory behavior; inclusive language use; the complexity of sexual identity, as well as specific actions that can be taken by individuals and groups to become allies and create SafeZones.

This workshop is offered as part of the Adelphi University Diversity Certificate program for faculty and staff.

Prerequisites: Diversity and Cultural Competence in Higher Education and Addressing Racism
