Adolescence is a time when many young people explore romantic and sexual relationships and form their sexual identities.

This interactive workshop will explore adolescent sexuality, sexual health, and relationships from a strengths-based approach, including everything from social media to sexual identity development to dating violence and consent. The audience will have opportunities to explore their own areas of discomfort and bias when working with adolescents around these topics. The workshop will also provide strategies and resources to support participants in working effectively with adolescents as they navigate relationships and sexuality.

Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  1. Review key terms and concepts related to adolescent relationships, sexuality, and identity
  2. Consider a strengths-based approach to adolescent sexuality, sexual health and relationships
  3. Explore areas of personal discomfort and bias when working with adolescents around these topics
  4. Practice strategies for working effectively with adolescents as they navigate relationships and sexuality

Faculty Bio

Kaleigh Cornelison, MSW

Kaleigh Cornelison, MSW, is a trainer, facilitator, and social worker. She supports nonprofits, health centers, and schools through engaging and creative professional development opportunities. Kaleigh specializes in communication, conflict, team building, trauma-informed care, facilitation skills, and youth development. She also works as the Manager of Quality Improvement, Youth Engagement and Resource Development for the Adolescent Health Initiative at Michigan Medicine. She has a Master’s degree in Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis with a specialization in nonprofit management. She lives in beautiful Ann Arbor, Michigan with her wife, rescue pup, Calvin, and baby, Amelia.

Adelphi University School of Social Work is an approved provider for continuing education credits for the following:

Successful completion for the award of approved continuing education credits requires attendance at the entire training/workshop and submission of a completed evaluation form.

Cancellation Policy

Unfortunately, we cannot provide refunds for cancellations made seven working days or fewer before the event for any reason—or for no-shows. We can provide credit towards a future workshop up to 24 hours before the event. After that, no credit will be issued.
