Psychoanalytic psychotherapy will be presented as practical transdiagnostic evidence-based treatment for PTSD. Particular focus will be on combat-related PTSD. Clinical application of the scientific method will be highlighted. Theoretical concepts and therapeutic techniques focused on in research will be emphasized. Relational psychoanalysis, attachment theory, and neuropsychoanalysis provide the theory base.

Stephen W. Long, PhD

Dr. Stephen Long is a NYS licensed psychologist and a certified psychoanalyst. He is on the faculty of the Postgraduate Programs at the Derner School of Psychology, Adelphi University; Training Supervisor, Psychology Internship and Post-doctoral Fellowship Programs, Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Northport, N.Y. Dr. Long is the author of Caring for People with Challenging Behaviors: Essential Skills and Successful Strategies in Long-Term Care.

Cancellation Policy

Full refunds are issued for cancellations made up to 7 working days before the event. Cancellations of less than 7 days for any reason, or no-shows are not refunded. Credit towards a future event/workshop are issued for cancellations less than 7 days and up to 24 hours before the event. No credit is issued for cancellations less than 24 hours before the events or no-shows.
